Default I-90 in South dakota Road construction on way to Sturgis?

Can anyone verify if there is any major road construction on I-90 in South Dakota from Sioux Falls to Rapid City? I've heard it jacked up closer to Rapid city. I'm gonna try and get up there in a day mid rally week and need to see if there's a better way to go from Kansas city. Thanks, HMT

Oh I hope not. That's the same way I was planning on going.
Heck in 2011 29-to-90 was flooded... that took all day to go around. Sucked.

That would sux. I heard I-90 west of wall is messed up. They were working on it last year someplace up there. I'm hoping someone's been that way recently that can comment on the condition of the Highway. I plan to bust up there. Set up camp and see the rally close down Friday and Saturday.

Yes there is. Just came back on Sunday and dealt with it both east and west bound. It's a combination of single lane going in each direction (on their respective sides) and also some two-way that got pretty tight at times.

They've got a ways to go get it done in time...also, some of the blacktop work is pretty lousy...was not uncommon to find mounds of blacktop that you have to avoid or surfaces that seemed like it was driven on before it was ready.

Hope it's ready for everyone...also had lousy construction on I90 in Minnesota. Ride safe everyone!

Where exactly was it? Thanks for the news. I may try and find a way around it.

Thanks, Thats what I thought. If not I may dive off at Wall on 240 and then go thru the Badlands N.P. to Scenic and Farmingdale then on to Rapid City. Then on to Sturgis.
