I've owned both an EG and a RG, and IMO, the RG is a much better touring motorcycle. I understand that "looks" come into the equation when purchasing a bike, so people may lean one way or another because of differences in the fairing. But the RG handles so much better at slow speeds, in the twisties and at high speeds, there really is no comparison in the overall ride.

Yes, I traded my 09 Ultra for a 13 RGU. I disliked the distance from where I sat to the windshield. Wind buffeting was tiresome.
Folks said get a Madstad shield, so I did. FUGLY but sort of worked.
Handle bars were also uncomfortable, so I put on 10 inch mini apes. Helped a bunch.
But when I saw a used '12 CVO Street Glide that RGU was toast.
At least I've ridden one, but I'll stick with my batwing.

Went from a RG to the SGS. Maybe it's me, but one of the reasons I like the SGS is the stability at parking lot speed. On the highway nothing can touch the Roadie. But in town, I much prefer the batwing. I think there's a reason motorcops ride a batwing and not the RG.
Very soon, you will see Motorcops enjoying the Shark!
If I'm correct, it should be released as a 2016 model year.
