Default Unique bike parts...

What do you have, and where did you get it? I'm looking for unique parts that are not common. Maybe its some type of trim? Maybe its a signal light lens? I know they are out there because I am constantly going through pictures and seeing different stuff all the time.

What do you have and post a pic if you can.

Thanks

Roland Sands is fairly uncommon as it is so friggin' expensive.
Quality stuff though.
Arlen Ness is pretty good too.
I hear ya on the stock **** though. (boring.)

So here are a couple of unique bike parts. I admit probably not a helpful post because you cant get these any more, but you can find interesting things if you look hard enough.

There are a lot of companies that make custom derby covers, timer covers, flags, etc.

(http://www.customderbycover.com/, http://www.etchingsbypig.com/happycustomers.html, http://www.mountainmachineandmotorcy...by-Covers.html, http://www.custom-engraving-ltd.com/)

First pic is a piece of glass on my tranny cover, from a 1-man company no longer in business, called Iron Glass Design. (thank god I no longer have those bag latches)

Second pic is of my derby cover, you can see it in my sig pic. Bob Epstein made these (http://www.pangal.com/), he was a great artist and Deadhead, but he passed away a few years ago. You can find similar derby covers now, but they arent the same quality - the thickness of the relieve of the skull is really great, a solid piece.

If you want unique, you have to get creative. For example, you can make parts yourself. On my Heritage, I made a horn cover by JBWelding a gas cap cover to a plain chrome horn cover. On another horn cover I stuck a medallion to it. I also once had a skull horn cover (you can get lots of weird skull stuff from http://skullmanonline.com/). Not unique, but not common. Last picture, I made a medallion by grinding the backing off of a Harley belt buckle on my Road King.

You can have stuff fabricated for you - this is a part I had made for my Heritage, from a company called Top Down Products. They make some standard covers for the license plate holes if you relocate your plate on a Softail.

The Front plates that used to go length ways on the front fender. Give the bike a real classic look. Very Unique.
