Default lazy mans question on rider backrest fitment

Hiya forum members, I have some family in town and not much time to get a question answered. It is my Dad and Brother here visiting and we are riding in my area for the first time all together ever.

My brother has a 2013 Touring bike and no rider backrest.

I have a nice rider backrest from a 2004 era bike. Will this backrest work with the mount for his year bike ? The backrest I have is the one with 2 round mounts with a spring between, If it will work I am giving it to him.

Thanks .

Thanks man !! Looking quickly on good old Ebay the backrests looked similar.

Of course a call to the Dealer again revealed to me the parts folks are very ignorant as to what fits the bikes they sell.
When I asked the tard he immediately said NO and I asked does he know this for sure and could he look it up to verify and his testy reply simply forced me to say something unpleasant and bid him a fair ado

I looked into it last year when I bought a 14. If you found the older model you might be able to fab the extra piece on the new model;
