Default LED Conversion Confusion, Please Help

Please bare with me, I need some help guys. I would like to upgrade the head light on my 2016 RK but I am confused by what i see on the HD website and other websites as far as bulbs and wiring harnesses.

The HD website tells me I need p/n 69200897 to make the H4 conversion to LED.

But my bike does not have that H4 connection like my 2008 Super Glide or 2013 Iron did. It has an H9 and H11 connection.

I checked behind the headlight for additional plugs but nothing that will fit the LED lamps are back there. Is it possible that they changed the wiring on the 2016 models and haven't made an LED for them yet? Am I going to have to cut and splice wires?

Thanks for the help guys.

Is that an HD headlight? If not, call the manufacturer.

If you have the harnesses to fit those bulbs currently then why not purchase H9 and H11 LED bulbs and call it good?

Yes it is. It is the stock light that came on the bike with an HD p/n on the back.

That may be the way I would have to go. Was trying to keep everything OEM for the warranty and all.

I did some more digging and on the instruction sheet for the wiring harness there is a section For FLHR/C. The connector needs to be spliced into the two connectors on the bike.

So much for plug n play.

Thanks.

Is there that much of an improvement from the new dual halogen to the LED? I thought the new lights made the difference not worth the cost.

Maybe the road king is different, but in my street glide the factory headlight plugs in to those 2 that you took a picture of however if you follow the harness back there's another single plug where it connects to the main harness. That single plug is where you plug in the adapter harness for the LED after disconnecting it.

I happen to have my bike all apart right now so I can snap a pic if you need it.

A pic would be awesome. I followed my harness back until i lost it under the tank hoping for just that, a second connection point.

I picked up an H11, H9, and an H4 wiring harness of eBay for $13. I figured i would make my own harness instead of cutting and splicing on new bike.
