Default Runs like Crap Low RPM

My boss bought an 06 Ultra with supposedly a stage 4 from a client of his. Got a good deal on it. But it runs like crap at normal street driving. Chugging, popping on decel. He had it at the Harley dealer. They re-mapped it, so it has the SERT. Not sure what cams. No O2 sensors, true dual exhaust. Runs great 4th gear up. He hates the way it runs.

I have never modified my engines. I keep them stock, run AC, Exhaust, Tmax. A buddy talked me into a PCIII once on 2010 Ultra with Big Radius exhaust. That thing went 40 to 90 in like 3 seconds but ran like crap on the street.

We are looking for advice on what to do to make this streetable. My thoughts are: Have someone pull the cams and put in Stage 1 or 2 cams, add back the O2 sensors with a thundermax or some other Auto tune.

Also, to be clear. what would a Stage 4 done at a dealer consist of. (the guy that sold it don't have paperwork for the Stage 4"

this is my understanding...

Stage 1: intake, exhaust & Stage 1 HD tune
Stage 2: Cams & Tuned
Stage 3: Big bore kit
Stage 4 Heads and fuel upgrades.

I run a thundermax and love it... takes a lot of the guess work out of fine tuning..

I would suggest troubleshooting the simple stuff first and start with the fuel filter, regulator, lines, etc... Sounds like it's starving for fuel. My buddy had the same symptoms/problems and it ended up being the fuel pump regulator.

Will the 09 headpipe fit an 06? If we run a thundermax, I believe the 09 stock had the 18mm bungs and not cat

Has anyone any experience with a Cobra tuner for a Stage 4 2006 Electraglide? Does Cobra have Auto tune like Thundermax?

Check the vacuum line that's coming off of the top of throttlebody. Sometimes they'll split from old age and the bike will run like crap!

Ask Fuel Moto, they will tell you what you need to change and why....gonna cost ya though if you want your bike to run right. Not that they are expensive, but they simply know what they are doing and you will have to reinvest to what is correct.
