Headlight Opinions
#21
I needed new spotlights on the RK anyway, so bought 4" Chinese Cree LED's for about 50.00 on Fleabay. Combined with a 100/120 H4 bulb in the stock headlight, it works fine for my old eyes, and a lot of light for little cost
The 100/120 is pretty bright (and hot) and I have also used the more readily available 80/100 with good results
I have a set of the rectangular HD spotlights left over from another bike and thinking of mounting these on the crash bars if it does not look too silly. If I did not already have these, I would buy Cree LED 2" round spots with built in modulator
If I do mount the HD rectangular spots I am thinking to wire in a blinking headlight modulator for daytime use. I have a modulator on another bike and it gets car drivers attention and you can see them take a second look, rather than pulling out in front of you waiting to be T-boned
Headlight and spots are wired for daytime running.
Granted I do not ride a lot at night anymore, but for the odd short trip home. Being seen in the day however, is just as important as being able to see where you are going at night.
