So Santa brought a new headlight for me 2018 sgs its a adaptive headlight from Harley Davidson. The instruction have a warning about the BCM body control module. Does my bike have one ? It says all bcm equipped vehicles require this step.

Thanks

The Daymaker Adaptive LED Headlamp combines the best in headlight performance with the ultimate in modern styling. The projector-style LED offers best-in-class punch and spread with a pure white light that feels like riding during the day. Best yet, this headlamp features 12 LED spot lights that activate based on the lean of the bike and deliver curb-to-curb lighting that illuminates areas of the road unlit by traditional LED headlamps. The Daymaker Adaptive Headlamp provides functional perfection and exquisite styling all in one.

Pretty sweet light. Works like my Custom Dynamics which was just a bit less than the HD $850. But HD STILL doesn't make a nice light for the new Road Glides....

Thanks
"For BCM (Body Control Module) equipped motorcycles, be sure to use the specified BCM headlamp setting. Failure to set the BCM correctly can cause unintended loss of power to the headlamp, reducing rider visibility, which could result in death or serious injury. (06708a)"

I gotta tell ya, that's the craziest statement I've ever seen in a headlight replacement instruction. It's just a headlight. The hardest thing i see is hooking up the position light to the ACC voltage connector on the back of the voltage gauge! I have the J.W.Speaker Adaptive Series 2 LED on my '17 SGS and I didn't have to have H-D mess with anything.

Don't bother. Go get Speaker's original 8790 Adaptive Series 2 LED headlight for $666 online. You might need the extra mounting ring (go to J.W.Speaker's website and check (I think it says the 06 FLHTCUI needs one - $722)

That might work for a mechanical part, but here we're talking about getting the BCM setting correct, which requires a procedure using the turn signal and flash-to-pass button. If set incorrectly, the headlight could potentially lose power while leaning into a curve on a dark, moonless night. The outcome of this happening would probably not end well for the OP.
