Default 10" Yaffee bars

Getting ready to pull the trigger on some 10" Yaffee bars for my 17 Road Glide. Do I need anything else for the install? Don't believe I need any cables or anything like that...

I know with the older RG's, you did not need new cables or extensions. It was a direct bar swap with the 10's.

Just some urethane bushings. I'd get the wire extensions from HD. Best $10-15???? spent. Saves the hassle of cutting a bunch of wire ties and rerouting the wires. Just plug the ext in and go.

With the 10" bars you will need:

A 4' length of 1/8" ball chain and a roll of electrical tape to fish the wires through the bars.

Lube for the wire harness (vaseline)

A pair of diagonal cutters to remove the plastic cable tray and tie-wraps inside the speedo housing.

A helper - I had my wife push the cable as I pulled on the chain.

The connectors are small enough to fit through the holes in the bars so you won't need to de-pin any connectors. All wiring and the brake/clutch cables are long enough to accommodate the Yaffe 12" bars. Since you're installing 10" extensions are not needed.

You will have to disassemble the fly by wire throttle plug as it will not fit thru the bars.
I just did mine on my 2015 Ultra Limited Low and it was a pain in the butt, but take your time and don't force anything. Well worth the effort!

Anyone buy the Yaffee riser clamp? Seemed like a nice piece but really unneeded. I see the set screws that they put in theirs but actually thinking about doing the same to mine...drill and tap 3 holes with set screws if I pull the pin..going to try with the pin first. Also is it best to put the bike up on the jack or leave on the ground with front wheel turned and locked?

You would be best to have it on the lift as you do have to turn the front end back & forth several times while putting the new bushings in. I would not raise it to high since you will be tilting the inner fairing back & forth a lot also!
