Stock Radio wont play MP3
I have a 2005 Electra Glide Classic with the stock radio/CD player. Although it has a MP3 aux input I would like to play MP3 files burned on a CD like I do in my truck. I heard that Harley came out with a CD player that will read MP3's on the 2007 models. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know if I can pull out my 05 radio and replace it with a 07 radio that plays MP3's and still use factory controls?
Thanks in advance.

My 06 Ultra will play CD's both store bought and burned.
I have nothing but problems trying to play a burned MP3 Cd
I burned a few for a roadtrip and nothing. I have had the stereo lock up a few times when I tried to play the MP3 CD.
MY 5k service is due and I want to have them replace my stereo

RE: Stock Radio wont play MP3
My 07 ultra plays mp3 disc's with no problems. I really like the mp3 disc. I can get between 110-130 songs on a disc.
I can't answer you on the latter part. i am sure someone will chime in that can answer your question.
Remember you have to burn to mp3 data to make it work, not music.

It should since it has the same 23 AMP connector that plugs into the back of the radio.
Another option is to buy the Biketronics interface and the Sony headunit of your choice. For under $400 you will have a better headunit (though without weather channels) and retain your handlebar controls. Also, it is much less expensive to add XM/Sirius on the Sony than the HD Advanced Audio system.
Biketronics.com is the website; worth a look IMHO.

Yea, the only thing they left out is the ability to recognize folders.. (07)
Spent a hour or so neatly setting up a CD with artist in folders and what a letdown, had a pioneer premier for a fraction of the cost
of all mighty Harmon/Kardon do things that would cost a fortune to do on the HK...

The '07 radio should fit into the slot on the '05. When I first used my MP3 on my '07 it wouldn't play. Found out it wasn't the radio. I needed to upgrade the programing on the MP3. I went on-line and downloaded it from the manufacture site. Plugged the MP3 back into the radio and it worked fine.
