I was gonna cut my windshield like a tombstone to allow the handlbars to clear it..plus, you don't really see anyone with a tombstone shaped windshield! But then, I got a Dead Center Cycles fairing because it's QD and locks on with a barrel key. My 18" apes are pushed forward to the limit (just a slight break forward of the lower leg straight line) and they still clear the fairing by 1/2". Consider the tombstone design. The guy that was gonna cut it for me at Tap Plastics thought it was a cool idea and he recommended it to some other King owners. But be sure it's what you want. Draw it out...that's what I did.

Skip the windshield, just wrap plastic wrap between your arms.

I notched my windshield and works and I think looks good. I just used a jig saw and a good file and a sander to round the edges

I know this is an old post but if you are still out there I have a question. Exactly what is the brand and model of this windshield and the height? Thanks

Unfortunately the last time he posted on HDF was back in 2010. I'm afraid you may not get a reply, although you could try sending him a PM, by clicking on his name in that post. Worth a try!
