Amps and stereo interference
Just talked to Donna at Biketronics.
She said the amp they have for $399 is great but intereferes with FM radio reception on some units. They now have a new amp for $499 that will work better but I have to get on a waiting list that will last at least a month she said. Wonder if the amps from Hawg wired and Hog tunes are having the same problems.

RE: Amps and stereo interference
i talked to hawg wired also about the problem after i talked to biketronics and they told me it could cause interferance. Hawgwired said that any amp could cause this problem if it is placed to close to the antenna. If you have an underfaring antenna you run a risk, if your antenna is on the back of the bike youll be fine. And even if your bikes antenna is under the fairing it doenst mean youll have bad reception. They only claim that there is a chance, most people i have talked to never have a problem

RE: Amps and stereo interference
I like the folks at BikeTronics, but I would be that they change their story in the end unless they are shielding the crap out of the case. Like DoWork08 said all amps will cause a little interference if mounted to close to the antenna. I have the Hog Wired amp but even without the amp running in fairing antenna had crappy reception for me, but others have great luck with them.
Mileage will very depending on your setup and location.

RE: Amps and stereo interference
All electronic gadgets have to pass an FCC compliance test. I'm surprised that this product is even sold since it obviously didn't pass...
Although, I wonder if this couldn't be related to where it is positioned and how it is cabled. Wires can cause EMI problems, and so a possible solution would be to run shielded cables... just thinking...
