Default Battery Tender

I just installed a HD battery tender and the box that plugs into the wall is very hot, is this normal or do I have an issue with the tender?

They all get hot some more than others. If it starts to glow then theres a problem.

Tenders are not chargers.Your battery was probably in need of a charge.

Its probably charging full time instead of tending, when the battery is fully charged it should cool down from there on. Try connecting the tender more often especially if you let the bike sit for a few weeks in hot or cold weather. I have the HD super smart one and love it use it on all my bikes and ATV.s

If it gets too hot, you could purchase the optional HD Battery Tender cooling fan.&nbsp\\; It's in the P&amp\\;A catalog for $49.95.&nbsp\\; I took mine back to the dealer and they said they all do that, but offered to reprogram it to run cooler for $150.&nbsp\\; I also heard Nightrider is offering a new set of cables that lower it's operating temperature by 20 degrees.&nbsp\\; They are $99.95.&nbsp\\; I may just send mine out to be ceramic coated.&nbsp\\; EIther that or sell it and by the Honda version
