Email'd PM & HHI
OK...
In an effort to solve the "two caliper stock setup vs. one 6 piston caliper-13" rotor" debate...I've email'd both Performance Machine & Hawg Halters.
Below is the email I sent both.
I'll post their responses when I get them.
Hello,
I'm considering changing my front brakes on my 2006 HD FLHX Street Glide from the stock HD setup to a single 6 piston caliper with a 13" rotor.
How much braking ability do you estimate I'll lose, if any?
Wouldn't one quality 6 piston caliper such as the HHI with a 13" rotor be as good, if not better than the current stock setup I'm now running?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I took that into consideration.
Hell, they may come back and tell me a better alternative would be 2 of their 4 or 6 piston calipers.
Hopefully they'll shoot back something unbiased.

I do not know what they will tell you, but I can say when I switched my stock brakes on my 05 FLHRS for a 6 pot HHI and a 13" rotor, my braking effort(READ squeeze toe brake lever effort) lessened and my stopping power increased considerably. I got my setup from Bart at Cateye Customs ( a board sponsor) and used a setup he recommended based on years of building custom bikes. It served me well for several years and even got me some extra money at trade time.

OK...both PM & HHI replied to my email today.
Here is the HHI reply regarding the caliper debate.
Chris,
What we have found thru testing is no real loss in braking distance if retaining the stock size wheel. If you are changing to a 21” then you’ll lose a little due to the reduced tire contact but not significantly. The only other change is heat build in a single vs. dual. If you repeat the braking sequence the single will heat up a bit more but this is not a typical daily driving experience. The most important thing you need to do is change your brake master cylinder to a 9/16” bore for proper fluid volume and pressure.
Thank you,
