Default Harmon-Kardon Radio for 02 FLHTCU

Not wanting to use aftermarket alternatives and lose the passenger/rider communications and headset I'd like to know if anyone has ever heard of installing an 06' later Harmon-Kardon radio into an 05' or earlier FLHTCU? I recently came across an 07 with an 05 radio with the cd but that was on a classic flhtc. I'd be really interested in any info on this idea. I'm having some trouble with my old cassette radio plug-in for playing my Ipod. Thought the smartest thing would be to jump to the newest radio I could. Quarter for your thoughts? (inflation you know!) I've not had much luck finding the 03-05 cd radio for ultras and have been looking for about 3 months on ebay.

thanks all

Absolutely, positively will not work. It's not just the plug.

+1 and it is not the speakers. HD's fitment for the HD radio in the P&A catalog specifically says it's for '06 and newer bikes. They'd be happy to sell you one for an older bike if they could, but the radio won't work on the older bikes.

Default harmon-kardon radio for 02 flhtcu

Berndude, YouDaMan! Thanks all. I knew that the electrical system was upgraded in 2004 and the radio of 2006 is a different size but I just had to think that some creative electrical flippin' engineer would have figured out a way to do the mod. THanks again all. Here's to the coming of spring - like the guy said, "spring is almost here, we can already see the deer!"
