Anyone know how to remove or repair the pitting on the forks? Thanks.
If they are pitted bad I don't know of any other way than taking them off and putting them to a buffer.or I restored an old kawaski and I steel wooled mine and then put a dremel tool to them with the small buffing attachment with aluminum polish. They came out looking like chrome. It took forever.
I keep the bugs cleaned off mine and I wax them and that seems to keep them from pitting.
try looking at a marine supply outfit. They have some of the worlds bets epoxy coatings against salt there is and require very little maintenance after you apply it.
Someone on here a month or so ago was writing about how great thiers looked after cleaning for many hours and then of course, someone else replied with an even better way to do it that takes less time.
