OK, spent 2 days on line, then went to stealership. Know the parts man. over 20 years, Am going se 95" kit, because he will change out cams from the se203 (comes with) to the se255 cams at no extra charge. will use the se hydrolic upgrade kit w/hi output oil pump, and then when i get it apart, the heads go to Zippers for a .030 shave, and a hot street port. Then, on top of that, i'm buying from the stealer, cause he'll give me 20% off all parts. Now, what do you think of that!!! I think its pretty good,i've got 1300 in heads,cams,jugs,&gaskets. every thing i need, or i can buy the exact same thing from S-S and pay 2700.00 then buy gaskets.

well he's willing to give you 20% because dealer cost is about 38-45% below the retail, so he's still making a decent chunk.. so if you do go there.. just don't believe as much of the "SUCH A GREAT DEAL" garb.

 

It's funny that you post about the great deal you're getting, but still refer to the dealer as a stealer. Just sayin'

 

how much for pistons? and are you paying zippers for the heads or the dealer? Price seems way low or way good. Maybe knowing somebody for twenty years means something some times. Sounds like the hot set up. Don over and out>>>>

I put in $300 for a street port(which is probably low but a basic clean up porting and decking from Big Boyz runs about this) and came up with $1540 before discounting so $1300 IS about 20% off and seems like a fair deal 'specially if they give you a good price on labor. Seems pretty reasonable for what the OP is getting plus having the dealer on the hook for warranty.

 

I'd be shipping the parts from Zanotti's and Chicago HD to my house and taking them to my indy. And spending the savings on a new exhaust system. And S&S is not selling you "the exact same thing" either, but their heads would be way overkill for your build!
