Default Optional XM radio instructions

I've got an XM Satellite Radio Kit 76404-06 on order. I was reading through all of the audio section of the Touring Model Owner's Manual. There's information about the optional navigations but nothing about the optional XM radio.
For those that have had satellite radio activated you know you have to have a serial number or id number for your particular unit in order for the service to be activated. That's the information I was looking for.

Once you get everything hooked up go to XM setting on radio and scroll the channels to channel 0 and your ID number will appear in the radio display. Good luck.

That's one of the questions I have. Is there a visible XM radio display and setting only after the XM module is installed? When I ordered the XM module I asked what all I needed to do the installation. I was told that all I needed other than the XM module itself is the mounting bracket for the antenna. Now someone else is telling me I need something called an "OVERLAY HARNESS". Please explain if you know. I hate getting into an installation after taking the Batwing apart to find out I need something else.

That's just it. Yes I did read it after the fact. While talking to the part guy at Lake Shore Harley I ask what all I needed to do the XM installation. He told me, other than the antenna bracket, eveything I need was in the kit. Now I think I'm finding out the Ultra Overlay Harness (Part Number 70164-06) is over $100 by itself.

I guess I'm still learning about Harley accessories. The work KIT usually means that everything is included.

I just plain failed to ask the right questions to the right people. I'll call tomorrow and order the harness.

As many XM satellite kit that Lake Shore probably sells you would think they would be able to tell their customers what they need.
