Default 9.5" or 10.5" Clearview w/ Recurve

I am trying to decide between the 9.5" and the 10.5" Clearview shield with recurve for my 09 Ultra.

I placed tape on the stock 12" shield to find out if I could see over either one. I can see over both options. The main reason for changing the shield is to allow me to look over. Currently the stock 12" is right in my line of sight.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm 5"10 and had a 8 and then switched over to a 9.5
However I am running a gel seat cushion
I can look over and the wind gets over my helmet
The thing to remember is that you are looking waaaaay out over the shield, not at the line that is right in front of you.

Hope this helps

I am 6'1" and I am currently running a 10.5 works very well. Actually changed from a 9.5 Clearview recurve. My recommendation is to go with the tallest that you can look over if you are concerned with buffeting.

With the new seat that sits about 1" lower, I'm looking through about the top 2" of the stock windshield on my '09 Ultra Classic. I'm thinking a 9.5" Clearview medium tinted shield with recurve.

I'm 6'4" and went with the 9.5 recurve. Like the heigth and look over the top but still have no buff from the wind on my head.

I'm 5'10' and cut my original OEM shield to 9 1/2" to see what it was like - I was primarily interested in how much, if any, buffeting I felt. Could see over it fine and very little buffeting. Bought the 8" Clearview with recurve. Now I can see way over it (which I prefer) and get very little buffeting.

I'm 6'1" and replaced the stock Ultra shield with an 8" straight shield. The buffeting was horrendous on the Interstate. Went back to the stock shield after about a year and the top of the shield was in my line of sight and drove me nuts. Went with the 9.5" with Recurve. I can see over it with no problem and there is almost no buffeting, with the exception of dirty air on the Interstate... especially following Semi-trucks. Would probably get a 10.5" for a long trip just for the extra protection but the 9.5" works for me.

How do these heights affect your passenger? I have the same problem as nrolph, the top of the windshield is directly in my line of sight. My wife loves the stock shield, but it's driving me nuts.

I'm 5.8" have been using 9.5" re curve works great some times my wife and daughters ride with me no complaints.Don't care for the stock windshield hate looking through it. Clearview IMO works better in the rain or fog. As for as windshield height it all depends the way you sit on your bike Good Luck
