Default Premium tourpak hinges on police bags....

Another forum member noticed the premium hinges on my police saddlebags and asked about installation. They do fit (at least on my 07) without any modifications except to drill larger holes for the screws (I think I drilled to 3/16"). Also, I needed to use slightly longer (I don't remember the size, maybe 1/8" longer) screws for the two screws that went into the top and the four that went into the bottom. The "washer" plates also needed to be drilled. The screws that go into the offset plate had to be shortened by about 1/8". Take care not to scratch the paint and place everything into position. They look WAAAAAY better than the OE cheapos!!

Talk about making a 'silk purse out of a sow's ear'!!
Lookin' good!!

I'd like to figure out some way to do that with EG lids!
I still like the 'old style' latches!!

Where'd you get the hinges? Are they made by Harley? The hinges on my '99 are so worn and loose, I'm surprised I haven't lost a lid yet.

Hey, I like the hocky pucks. My son machined me some billet aluminum pucks for Father's Day last year and they look great. This year he machined stainless steal heal-toe and rear brake peddle for the ole bike for an early present.
It makes it easier for the guest rider to get a cool bev from the bag without making a pit stop.

Definitly looks good! Waaaay better then the stock hinges. I questioned whether or not they would work for the police bags, when they first came out. You're the first I've seen.
Nice!
