Default Has anyone made their Tour Pak rack quick disconnectable?

Interested in getting a Tour Pak rack, but only want it on there when needed (i.e. trips).

Has anyone made their's disconnectable? If so I am interested in hearing how you did it. I assume the simplest would be to just remove it and plug the holes in the lid with some (waterproof with rubber washers?) chrome buttons of some sort? Did you use the screws for attaching the rack or come up with something more quick to disconnect?

Unfortunately, you got the Electra Glide Classic with the welded on tour pack.
It holds the whole bike together and the rear wheel will fall off if you try to remove it.

That's funny,
I just re-read your question. U want to make the rack on top of the tour pack removable.
I guess you could, but you will have 4 big (leaky) holes on the tour pack lid.

Why would u want to anyway?

I would get the removable rack hardware and go that route. I use it and it works great

A buddy of mine did it I will send him the post and see what he says but in short I do know when he takes it off he uses the chrome stripes to cover the holes and has not had any problems.

Default guess I read it wrong myself

never knew anyone who cared about the "rack" on top of the "Pack". im sure you could find a plug (nut, bolt and o ring type washer) at ace hardware but does that top rack bother you that much? If your not on a road trip, get rid of that tour pack and lighten the load for around town.

I originally read it like some others, that you wanted to remove the tour pack. Loved the part about the wheels falling off though!

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I want to make the rack removable. I want to keep the Tour Pak on the bike. I use the Tour Pak daily, but would only need the rack for trips.
