New Wood Knight Prowler TW-555 Cams
As many of you know we have been working pretty closely with Bobby Wood with his excellent Knight Prowler cams. With Fuel Moto's feedback he has now released the TW-555. This is a variation of the TW6-6 but with 2 additional degrees of duration on both the intake and exhaust and with .555 lift. This is going to be a great cam and we should have them the second week of August. We are going to do some extensive cam testing at that time on our 2010 Street Glide, we are going to test the TW6-6, TW6-6 with +4 advance gear, as well as the TW-555. Here are the specs:
Cam: TW-555
Intake Open/Close 21/41 242 Duration
Exhaust Open/Close 43/19 242 Duration
Lift Intake .555
Lift Exhaust .555

.555 is fine for stock beehive springs. I'm running a .555 lift now, and many others are running up to .575 on the beehives.

For these cams we wanted slighly more lift and Bobby added slighly more duration as well. When Bobby speaks I certainly listen, this good ol' boy has probably forgotten more about cams than I will learn in a lifetime. We are expecting similar numbers to the TW6-6 which is an awesome cam, the extra lift and additional 2 degrees of duration should make slighly better numbers especially if you have increased compression. The new TW-555 cam should work especially well in the 103 Limited.
Here is a cool picture of Bobby Wood's tuning a Blown Chevy big block in 1965. This was the year the "new" big block platform was released as the 396 replacing the 348/409. Also a picture of one of Bob's NHRA Funny cars.
