Installing the hinges was not nearly as nerve wracking as drilling the lid to install the luggage rack.

I also did mine this summer. It was not hard at all. They made a big difference.

you would think so , $33000 for a Ultra trike and they still put those tin can hinges on , so they get another $50 and we have to put them on

Piece of cake project, I did mine alone just take your time and be be sure you use the right size drill bit and that is sharp or brand new new. Drill from the inside of Tour Pack out.
Do not over tighten the new hardware and be sure to have some loctite on hand.

I'm sure that was nerves wracking. The dealer installed mine when I purchased the bike. I didn't want to tackle that one.

Thumbs up Upgraded hinges

Put on the new hinges this fall as well as the spring loaded retactor to replace the cable...tour pack not only looks 100% better, but is more solid and functional!!

Me too - I managed to get the luggage rack done without any any scarring. Hopefully the bike will survive this surgery also!

Did the same thing to mine. I thought grinding off rivets by weather stripping with dremel was easier than drilling.
