H.O.G. membership.

you can add towing to your current insurance policy for less than the cost of H.O.G.. they have cancelled fly and ride. who needs another magazine 4 times a year--which is mainly just a glorified harley cheerleading rag. if the parent company gave a 10% discount on all services and parts to H.O.G. members-and all dealers had to participate-then you could possibily justify belonging...if you spend enough money at the dealer. basically it is just another m/c club and clubs suck.

I have to agree with most of what DC has to write.
The articles; unless thay are written by us, are terrible.
The mechanical information provided is laughable.
I thought the tow package was worthwhile; now will have to investigate that in light of what DC says.
But hey; you should be old enough to formulate your own opinion.....

In the short haul (paying year to year), No.
But having the Life membership, Yes. I am glad I bought it when they first offered it (I first became a member back in 1983). No annual dues. Have the Map Book and stuff mailed every year. Pins and Patches mailed every year. Have access to all of the National benefits.

What DC said... My membership just expired and was thinking of renewing until I read DC's comments. My HOG membership didn't mean squat when purchasing upgrades however my "lifetime" MVP membership paid off and then some within the first year.

I left mine expire last year, no plans to renew. I get flat-bed towing with my m/c insurance for less than $10 extra a year. Local dealer doesn't do a HOG discount, and I buy parts online at 20% or more off. They got rid of ride-and-fly, I can get their pins/patches on eBay dirt cheap if I wanted them, and I don't need their sales circular sent to me 4x a year (their mag). No reason for me to pay them anything, they aren't offering me any thing I can't get better/cheaper someplace else.
