Installed an FP3 currently doing the Autotune..

Even with a canned Vance & Hines map the bike is running way better than whatever map was in the Screaming Eagle tuner when I bought it.

Seems to be running much cooler also, throttle response is more crisp than before..

so far I'm impressed..

Can't ride due to a recent surgery. Did some online shopping and got a set of V&H Dresser Duals from Phatperformance for $380. Hoping I won't need a tuner since it's the only mod the bike has performance wise. See what happens when they come in.

Bought an '06 Ultra used, with Stage 1, with low miles. Ran ok but just not right, lean, popping and occasionally would flat puke @ hard throttle. Long story short, the SE Race fuel pack wasn't working. Removed the SE junk, installed a V&H fuelpak, new plugs, Seafoam in the tank, Amsoil in all 3 holes and a new K&N AF. All that in a day and the test run was worth the ride! What a difference, now I am a happy man

Just signed up today, been lurking for a while.....
Today rode my 01 that's up for sale.
Monday I bought a low mile 09 Ultra, yesterday transferred the title (can we say jump through that hoop).
Today I hope to get the chance to clean/detail it. It has cob webs and dust in all the places a "quick' wash did not remove (previous owner).
I am also looking at gutting the CAT's (need to verify the exact location, as my old bike/bikes did not have them).
Next week it goes in to have the seat cut down (I am height deficient).
I was looking at the Ultra Lows but it was not in the budget and I feel I couldn't go wrong with this 09. I will get a Low once I put some miles on this one.

Would you please care to share what product you used and the method to get your paint to look like a mirror?

there's the rub. (irony) it wasn't some hundred dollar miracle goop. no thousand dollar machines

$6 bottle of mequiars buffing compound - one coat
$5 bottle of turtle wax polishing compound - one coat
$5 bottle of turtle wax luquid carnuba. (2 coats)
bargain bin microfiber applicators and towels
$10 bucket of elbow grease

Don't do it where the sun is beating the crap out of it - hot plastic and paint never seems to shine up that well. roll it in the garage and light it best you can. take your time, don't scrub too hard. use clean towels. that's about it.

One caveat. microfiber picks up EVERYTHING. They're like little crap magnets. Set that towel on a surface that's even a little dirty while you're working, and you'll pick up every damn piece of sharp edged crap in a 30 foot radius. I use the underside of the lid from my towel storage container. I've added more scratches than I've cleared out in times past because I picked up a leaf stem or crap somewhere I never saw till too late. I've even picked up crap from my pants pockets. Wash the towels really well and check them before you put them away. If you have any doubts. toss them, or relegate them to the gun cleaning or scrap towel stash. they're cheap enough these days.
