Proggresive 440's ?

RE: Proggresive 440's ?
I put Progressive 440's on my Street Glide. I stayed with the stock 12" height and it definitely improved the comfort compared to the stock 12" air shocks. However, if you want the ultimate in comfort, get the 440's in a 13" length (1" more travel than stock). There are times when I wish that I had gone with a longer travel shock. 13" would be awesome for ride quality.

I have the 11.5 Progressive 440. They ride much better than the factory air shocks. Another thing about the 440's, be careful. They come with a standard spring and a heavy duty spring. The heavy duty springs are very stiff unless you load the bike heavy. Another great thing about the 440's, they are adjustable if you need to carry more weight. You just screw the adjuster ring down by hand. If you feel it bottom while riding, next stop just screw it down a little more.

If you want a "Cadillac" ride, go with "Works Performance Shocks". They cost about $525 but they are smooth. I had some 13" Works Performance ones on my Road King and switched them with 12" "Progressive 412's". The difference is night and day! The Works performance shocks are way better in my opinion.

You make a good point, but, I was just letting him know my experience and opinion with both shocks. Regardless of the size. I will say it again, the 13"Works Performance shock is awesome!". But for $525 that is what I would expect! This comparison might be meaningfull to someone who is about to buy new shocks and doesn't know what size they should get.
