Default Windshield height for short guy-advice needed

I am 5'8" and look just through the top of the stock shield on my 2011 RKC. I am thinking about ordering a 17" from Clearview. Anybody with similiar measurements to mine already go through this? Is this the right height windshield for me.

I already did the mark the windshield exercise. It's just tough to imagine if its right. I think the 18.5 will be too high. By the way, I am going to order the recurve shield with light grey tint.

Come on guys, someone has to have some advice for me. If I had posted a topic like "do you wipe your **** front to back or back to front" I would have had 32 pages of replies.

i would suggest taking a foot or two of masking tape and making marks or lines on it at one inch and half inch increments and putting that to where you can see it on your original windshield. go for a short ride and remember to find the line which is about two inches below your line of sight. nos you can cut the windshield to the height you want. most guys including myself prefer looking over the windshield while riding rather than through it. you can take your stock windshield to a glass shop to get it cut if you don't think you can handle figuring out how to cut it. if you remember the measurement on the masking tape, you can also order one that tall too. okay that's all the advice i can give you hope it helps.

I am 5'9" and was looking through the top of my Road King 20" factory windshield.

I made a template of the original shape of the windshield. Then cut it down 1.5". It is now perfect for me, I am looking just over the top. The top is even with the tip of my nose.

Cutting the windshield down also corrected some of the buffeting I was getting at 65mph and above.

Call Clearview's 800 number-if you give them your height and inseam they will tell you which size shield you need on your model of bike.

I am 5'-8", have a '00 Road King and have recently installed Klock Werks "Billboard Flare" windshield...absolutely the best shield I have ever used ....it is about 18" hign and I see over it, but it still protects very well with very little wind slapping around...good investment for $200...highly recommend
