Default Adhesive strips when changing hardware out on Road King windshields?

For those of you who have changed the shield out on your Road Kings

A) Did you swap out the hardware from your oem shield?
B) Did you use any adhesive strips etc that were originally on the OEM shield?

I bought some new hardware (just the cross braces on the shield) and I also bought the adhesive strips

Just wondering if worth it to put them on the new shield (whatever that may be)

You know what shield I just installed. I re-used all of the original hardware and original adhesive strips.

I changed mine last summer. Rather than buy "official harley davidson" strips I just used double stick tape, which is probably what it is to begin with. Easy-breezy.

I bought a Clearview. Reused all hardware and no adhesive strips. Clearview instructions didn't mention any tape so I didn't use it. Works fine without it.

I just reused mine and did not worry about the strips. Mine is a 2000 so there was not much stick left so I just left them alone. Did you decide which shield you going with?
