Default Oil leaking on my left fork seal?

I having oil leaking and I can see it on the left upper slider cover? It's making one heck of a mess.
I did grease the sterring head until it came out of the upper and lower as the service manual said to at the 1000 mile service.
I did think that was where the oil was coming from so I cleaned all the grease up a few weeks ago, but I am still seeing it and its blowing up everywhere when I ride.
I called the dealer today and said I think I have a fork seal leaking and was told it was probably the sterring grease, I was ask if it was on the left side which it is, he said if it
was a fork seal leaking it would be running down the slider and since I am seeing it on top of the slider cover he thinks thats the prob.

Anyone had this problem?

Thanks!

I think there would be noticable difference between fork oil and grease.

Fork oil looks like hydraulic fluid. Purple. Since you just greased it, I'd be inclined to think it's grease as well.

M ost feel it's un-neccessary to fill the steering head with grease - only the bearings need greased - all that extra grease simply makes a mess.

I too have noticed this. I too thought fork seal. You do not see it dripping, or see it in a fluid or grease state. You simple see small streems where dust sticks to it. I have also gotten it down on my left boot and primary cover. It was indeed steering bearing grease. I could not bleieve it. I thought for sure it was a blown fork seal.

Same thing happened to my old RK. I filled steering head with greese through the zerk fitting. In warm weather, It would drip an oily residue onto the slider, and look like a fork leak. I don't know how to greese the steering head any other way without taking it apart. I would wipe the bottom of the steering head with a rag to clean up any residue. Eventually it stopped.
