I wonder how much more I would get from a newer unit as I don't have O2 sensors or Cat to deal with...
A newer Power Commander? Isn't the PCIII USB the most current model for most bikes? I know there's a PCV, but it's for very current systems, no?

No misleading. You were just mistaken. I had an "aha" moment then realized I'd already read that the "red" injectors were stock.

The AC stock comment refers to going back to a stock element to reduce the air flow, thereby increasing the fuel ratio. Even if you went to EBAY and spent $20 you'll find someone getting rid of a stock element, I'm sure. ( Even a dealer might have a used one lying around.)
I'd need an entire OEM A/C assembly, not just the element. I understand your point, but for now I'd rather try to keep things flowing and work on stabilizing the fuel supply.

I think I might be looking at a fuel pump issue as well. Will look into that and the ubiquitous fuel-hose wear.

Zero map should change nothing as you suggest.
So then it's safe to use the tach on the PCII to do the TPS reset procedure?

My bike idle "swells" on cold startup up too, on hot it just starts at 1050 and stays there.
How quickly does it drop down to normal idle on cold starts? I know it would depend on air temp, etc, but...in general?

I don't think a PCV would buy me anything more aside from switching between 2 maps on the fly. Better for newer bikes.
Don't know much about Power-Vision..

I figured that was what you meant.

Man, I've read so much about FI systems, fuel management, tuners, replacement ECMs...got myself a bit confused. Gotta back up.

Did a lot of reading at the RB Racing site. Them's some opinionated folk! Seem to know their stuff, though.

Yes..

In summer, 1500 for 2 or 3 seconds, then 1200 for a minute or two.
In winter, 1800 for 5 or 6 seconds, then 1500 for a minute or 2, then 1200 etc.
