Default Heritage bars not enough pull back for my FLTR

I bought a low mileage 08 Anniversary Road Glide that still had the stock bars. We all know the stock bars don't work for most and it was true for me also. I replaced them with the much talked about Heritage style bars and they're better but...even though I've pulled them down as far as I can to still make the clearances, I'd like about 1.5 - 2 inches more pullback. I need to keep my elbows down and back for my best comfort.

Who else tried the Heritage style bars on their tour bike but opted for something with even more pullback. What did you replace them with?

Look at the Wild One 518s. Work great for me! Search my old posts for more info.

I don't have a bagger, but I put the Wild 1 Chubby RG (WO517) on my FXST. It has plenty of pull back for me and I'm not stretched out or leaning forward anymore. They are great bars, and when I do get my Road Glide, that's the first item to be put on.

I put the heritage style bars on my Road King Classic and they helped also, but I am in the same boat as you. They are too high and don't pull back enough. I had the Harley Batwing pullback bars (56176-08) on my Streetglide and they were perfect - elbows down and back and hands not high. The wild ones in the pictures look like they would be too high. The pullback bars may work on your Roadglide unless the base is too wide. I just think they would look goofy on the Roadking because the base is too wide & is not hidden by a fairing. If anyone put these on a non-faired bike, I would like to see a picture.

Harley also offers a "Road King/Roadglide Reduced Reach" handlebar (56166-08) that has 2" more pullback than the stock RoadKing bar. Anyone tried these?

The Heritage style bars worked great for me and didn't require messing with the cables.

http://www.wild1inc.com/ has a lot of pictures of road kings with the various bars and at different picture angles. You can look at them, find a bar that you like and then take a measuring tape to your bike to see the approximate dimensions.
