The pucks were closed.

There are a ton of threads all over the 'net where people complain of Cop Glide's bags vibrating open. The "detent" that you speak of isn't very big, and frankly doesn't work real well.

I would say i see FAR more standard double hinged saddlebags flopping open than police bags. Granted, WAY more standard bags than police bags out there, but given i rode my FLHPi for almost 9 years now...and never once had it loosen and open while going down the road, i'm surprised to hear there has been any issue whatsoever. I've recently switched to standard bags, and i kind of miss the ability to open the bag while on the bike and with one hand. For longer trips/touring, i will certainly throw my "cop bags" back on the bike!

Jeez, I wish you lived near me. I'd love to put some cams in my bike but can't really afford all the labor.

Thanks for the kind words.

Am on my 2nd cop RK and have never had a problem with the pucks opening...I like 'em. I am looking to change the pucks out with a couple 8-*****..saw a bike with them on and it looked sharp.

Nice write up bro, I see you're in the Springs also. We've probably waved to each once or twice...That ride to Red River is a fun one too, and the little rally is fun to walk around...

Those latches are much nicer to look at than the pucks. Do they lock?

That's a cool idea. I wonder where you'd get the ***** machined at?

Yeah they lock, but that too is different than the civilian bags. There is a second latch that is keyed at the rear of the bag. People use it as a back up for the main latches in an attempt to keep the bags closed.
