Gps: Good, glare: Bad

I've set my brightness all the way up. In addition I've put a slight downward angle on the screen via the RAM mount but, when a low sun is right over your shoulder it does get pretty washed out. On my old TomTom unit I took a piece of old manila folder and duct taped it on the unit as a sunshield.

I have a ZUMO660 and have never had a problem with the glare. There are a few times during the day when the sun is at just the right angle to hit the screen but even then I can see it. I know that there are some aftermarket "hoods" for most units.
Maybe one of them would help you out.

I have my Nuvi mounted on a ball joint type mount so I can rotate it to different angles as needed. Although not perfect, I can usually find an angle that is viewable. I am going to check into a glare shield that I bought for my Benz when the carwash guys rubbed all the antiglare coating off. This film was incredible and made a completely useless screen better than new. I will post about it once I find the info.
