Default My FREE Hidden Street Glide Antenna!

I wanted to get one of those hidden antennas, but didn't like that people say they don't get the greatest reception. So I was cleaning my SG the other day and found a way to keep the stock whip antenna and didn't have to buy anything. Radio comes in just as well as it did before. All i had to use was Three zip ties.

Removed one of the mounting screws and rotated the antenna to vertical. Drilled and tap a new hole in the top.

Then I just ran it along the bike so it wouldn't interfere with anything. Used a small zip tie around the shock air filler.

Two more zip ties along the frame.

That all. This is a cheap and easy fix and you don't notice it much at all. Works for me but might not work for everyone. Just thought I would share.

!!! Ingenious !!! I can’t believe I have never thought of that.

On a side note: What is that bolt for in your frame with the plastic dohicky?

I think the seat rests on it, and its metal. Other than that i don't know the science behind it.

Is there one on the other side too?

That's the hole for the saddlebag guards to bolt into.
I've had 3 Street Glides and nothing has ever been in that hole.

Yep both sides. Mines a 2011 I think they went to a new seat that year? Might have something to do with that. Your guess is a good as mine.

I guess that means the forum management thinks there's little chance anyone will have a bright idea.

If you rolled the antenna downward to the bottom of that frame rail would the side cover still close or does it have to be above the side cover? If it ran along the bottom it would be less visible. That looks easier than moving it to the inside of the fairing.
