Default Blacking out saddle bag latch reflectors!

Just getting ready to black out my saddle bag latch reflectors, and was wondering the best way to get them out without F&*KING up the paint.
Will be painting it with VFT nightshades(spray tint).

Any input will help?

Tape it off with 2" wide masking tape and use a pointed skill knife to trim out the inside. Otherwise, use a heat gun or hair dryer and a very small screwdriver and be very patient.

Copy that, do you think I should take the latches off the bike or just leave them on and put the bike on the lift??

Just pulled my red reflectors off the latch today. I took the bags off and laid them on a table flat (latch side up). Took some Zippo lighter fluid and squirted it around the reflector on latch and let it soak like that for 5 minutes or so and they lifted right out. No prying or hassle, the Zippo fluid breaks down the 2-way tape. Stuff works great on chrome or painted surface.

I like that, think it will be o.k on black denim paint.
would hate to have it run and have marks on my brand new baby.
