Default 2009 RK Police FLHRP Switch Housing Questions

Hello All,

I'd like to replace my FLHRP stock housings with chrome ones. I know the FLHR chrome ones won't work because the FLHRP has an extra horn button below on the clutch side, and a pursuit button below on the brake side.

Does anyone know what housing Harley uses on the FLHP?

Is it from a FLHRC (Classic)? Or a FLHTCU? Or a FLHTK? Or a FLTR? Or is it a separate animal altogether?

Thanks!
Murph

Default Just answered my own question, and for the benefit of you other RK Police Peeps ...

The 2009 Police Service Manual refers to the 2009 Touring Service Manual which says ...

There are 4 different switch configurations for Touring models - Road King FLHR, Road King Classic FLHRC, Classic FLHTC, and Ultra FLHTCU.

The cop bike has its own housing and wiring.

It know it has it's own wiring of course, but the Police Service Manual directs the reader to the Touring Service Manual regarding the housing.

That said, the more I look at it, the more I think you're right. Everything looks the same except for the large holes for lower horn and pursuit light buttons. (???)

Anyway, in the end, I chickened out and ordered Kuryakyn's Chrome Switch Housing Cover #7828 because it seems to have universal large holes that might fit the lower horn and pursuit light buttons.

I'll post up if this simple cover fits for those interested in more chrome without getting into fully replacing the FLHRP housings with something else, keeping track of the flying bits, redoing the wiring, buttons, etc.

The top sections would be the same as other touring bikes, but the lower sections are different depending on the model.
