Typical range for a 5 gallon tank
Just wondering what range people are getting on the 1340 with a 5 gallon tank. It appears that with my bike leaning on the jiffy stand at a gas pump, I can only get about 3/4 of a tank in it. Or, at least that's what the fuel guage is telling me.
Another quick question, it appears that if I fill up the tank too much, I get overflow coming from a hose running out the bottom of the bike? Anyone else see the same thing?
Thanks

I fill my '02 RG on the side stand and it holds 5 gallons that way. And yes, if you overfill you will get the overflow drainoff from the hose; that's what it's for. Mine is a 95" motor instead of the stock 88"; my low fuel light typically comes on at 180 miles. I've put over 220 on a tank but typically try to fill up around 150.

Not sure what model you have. My 2011 Limited has a 6 gal tank and fuel warning light comes on at about 1 gal left. Mileage depends on whether I'm doing city traffic, 80 mph interstate or 60 mph two lane. Usually see better than 200 miles on a tank with mixed roads. Best mileage is at about 2500 rpm in 5th or 6th gear where I can get well over 200 miles per tank. Interstate at 75 or 80 in 6th gear is not usually as good a mileage as two lane cruising.

I have a 2000 Ultra with the 1550 kit, Stage II ECM upload, V&H slip-ons with a Baker DD6 trans.
I average about 40 MPG.
Over 70 MPH, the MPG's drop.
Best mileage for me is on two lane roads and or running betwen 2500-2800 RPM's.
Usually my fuel warning light comes on between 165-175 miles and I put 4.2 gallons in to fill it up.
On another note, my fuel gauge stays near the fullmark for nearly 100 miles before it starts it's "free fall" so shortly my trip meter reads 100 I start looking for a service station.
We were on a trip a couple of years ago and my wife likes to cruise near 80 MPH so gas stop to gas stop was about every 90 minutes!
