Lady Going Solo
Recently my lady friend told me she loved riding with me but wasn't thrilled with the two up thing, wanted her own ride. She rode off-road bikes when she was younger but its been a while. Next thing I know she's at DMV getting her permit and has signed up for a basic rider class that starts next week! Not being one to want to kill her motivation, we start poking around for bike alternatives for her and come across a 2009 Heritage Softail Classic with 5,300 miles at a local builder's shop for $13,400. Bike looked just about brand new and even has slip ons already on it plus some chrome. Yea, you guessed, she went for it She needs it lowered so the seller is taking care of the lowering kit for her. Will be interesting making the transition from two up to two bikes, but I think we will have a lot more fun this way. Its cool to be able to share something we both have a passion for, and I think we got a decent deal on her "new to her" ride

Two suggestions. One is twist her arm to join HDF, so she can get advise from her fellow lady riders in here. Two, once she is ready to go suggest she does local trips on her own, without you in tow! Visit her friends across town, small errands, that sort of thing, a few mikes here and there. Just keep your cell phone close by!
