Default Question about "engine" light

Just within the last month, when I really get on my bike hard to pass or even just run up to redline, my engine light will come on and stay on until I slow back down. Today I went to pass a grain truck and got up to about 85 mph and once I got around the truck I slowed down to about 65 and the light stayed on for almost 2 miles. Any thoughts. I checked my air cleaner and it looks good. Oil pressure is good. Plugs only have about 5000 miles. Fuel mileage hasn't changed and I can't tell that the bike is running any different.

Do a WOW test and see what code it stored. Key off. Hold the mileage reset in. Key on and then release the button. All indicators should light (even ones not used on your bike) and needle should smoothly peg and return to zero. odometer display will read diag. Hit the reset button one time to see if you have any diag codes set. It will read P S SP T with the P flashing. P=ECM, S= TSM/TSSM (flasher/flasher and alarm) , SP=speedometer , T=tac (since mine has user mounted tac T looks like inverted mirror of F) With the P flashing you can hold the reset for 5 seconds and it will read out error codes for ECM or you can just hit and release it to page to next function and hold it 5 second to read errors. Easier done then said. Since yours is an 04 it should geve you the read out codes for the 4 items since you probably have a factory tac. If you have no alarm it give errors for TSM and if factory alarm it will be for TSSM.

1357 front cylinder combustion intermitent
1358 rear cylinder combustion intermitent.

I would clear the codes and see if it comes back.

What kind of tuner do you have? Is it a reflash or piggyback

1357 front cylinder combustion intermittent 1358 rear. A miss? though you would fill it on a 2 cylinder. May have high speed glazed plugs or wires are not on tight?

when the code is showing...hold the button in for more then 5 seconds until it shows "clear"

I would call Jamie and see what he says...I kinda think it might have something to do with the tuner/map

The tuner has been on for 15,000 miles if that matters.

Have you washed it lately or been riding in the rain? You can always unplug it and see if the code comes back when you gas it.

I did wash it about the time this started and I thought I "carefully" used a power washer trying to get off some heavy crud and oil from the recent trip to Montana.
