Repair 99 88" Crank or New 103 Crank
Hi all,
First sorry about posting in Touring but need advise by Monday 4/15 :-(
I have my bike 99 RKC EFI in Belgrade MT Yellowstone Harley for what I was hoping would be a 95" top end build. 82,000 miles of her and while I had been told I might need a bottom end I was hoping not. They checked the rods and they were shot so out came the crank and sent to Dark Horse. They got back to dealer Friday and its the same price to repair as to buy a new 103 crank from Harley. While more power sounds good I'm a touring rider and good mileage and longevity are my goals. New take off 08 heads are being used as well as the S&S 510 gear drive cams I already have in there. Going with the 9.4 comp SE 95" pistons with .30 cosmetic gaskets, it is the old M&M EFI and they are going to put Power Commander USB III on her, break in on Dino and then tune. As a foot note money is tight
I need to tell them Monday 4/15 what I want to do so quick answers would be good. I would get my bike back quicker with new crank. 165 lbs mostly one up rider with 10-12 500 mile plus days a year mostly 2 lane............Thanks........goldie
