Default Do I have baffles in my 3 inch Rhineharts

Sorry for the silly question but I am tired of paying the dealer for everything . I am looking for some more noise out of my Rhineharts and want to know how I can tell whether or not I currently have them and if so if I remove them will I see a big difference? I will add I do not have true duels just the slip ons.

Thanks in advance

Jim

I am assuming that you are referring to 3 ½ Rinehart slip-ons? A pic would answer many questions. I would guess that you do infact have baffles in those and taking them out while it will increase the sound I do not believe you will like the quality of that sound. My 2 cents worth…..

I know I will remove what ever pipe is in them and add fiberglass packing to take the sharpness down. Adding HP will definitely make them too loud.

Yes, your Rinehart mufflers have baffles. And yes, they will sound horrible if you remove them. You might try 'flattening' the louvers out in part of the baffle to increase sound, but taking them out completely will not yield a pleasant sound. It will be loud, but the sound quality will not be what you are looking for....

I have Rhineharts also and like the sound as is. I would like to have about 10 different sets of pipes at my disposal just to try others though. If you take the baffles out it'll probably sound like a 18 wheeler jake braking when you let off the throttle. I tried removing the baffles on a set of pipes before and the bike ran and sounded like crap. Just my 2 cents.
