It'll run great either way. Might be a wee bit quieter, maybe not. Give it a try. I've run dino oil no problem. Valvoline VR1 is what I run when I use dino oil.

It's your bike,,,,, but I like knowing I can go longer if something were to happen. By the time you change your dino oil the recomended times to the amount of syn it seems to be more $. Good luck.

Alot of people say they use synthetic oil because they want to take better care of their motor. But does leaving dirty oil in the motor for more them 5k miles, sound like better care? How does synthetic oil remove the contaminates that accumulate in 5k miles worth of use? Oil filters hold dirt, but oil is exposed to it when any oil passes thru it. Synthetic oil is more prone to shearing then regular oil, and will thicken out of grade when used too long, just like any other oil.,,

I use synth in one bike, because that is what's recommended, but dyno in the others. All oils meet a limited number of industry specs, so there are dyno and synth oils that are interchangeable.

the vet told us to put a little mineral oil in the cat's food...helps with the digestion. in your case, it appears that you do not put many miles on your bike. how often do you change your oil? an '06 with 6k on the odometer--do you even get the oil hot enough on a regular basis to burn off the moisture that accumulates in an engine. better stick with the synthetic for the extra protection and change that oil at least once a year.
