Default Non-Ultra Overlay Cable

Since I have a Street Glide, when I added the XM module last year I had to get the Non-Ultra Overlay Cable. Needless to say, this thing has more wires and connections than I will ever use. Has anyone successfully taken one apart and removed the wires that are not needed?

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I put one in my RG for the CB radio, just zip tied it all in there, no big deal..I,wouldn't cut or pull any wires.

Oh, if anyone needs one, I have a brand new one I'll be posting for sale, never used it in the 2012 SG.
