Default New 2014 Rear Crash Bars

Anyone know if the new 2014 rear bag/crash bars will fit previous models? I put the comfort bars on mine, but really like the new lower bars for passenger comfort.

Got a specific part number that you are comparing? Looks like if it fits the 2014 model, it does not fit earlier models if you are looking at 90200787. (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ddlebag-guards) Looks the ones for 20013 and older is a different design. (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-02-4928209--1)

Also found 49087-01 (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...addlebag-guard) if you don't want the saddle bag side rails that are standard on your Ultra.

Thanks for the info and links. Yes, the #90200787 bars are the ones I had in mind. That's too bad. That new and improved design would solve a lot of problems for some passengers. The comfort bars I put on mine do help in keeping the bar out of the passenger's way, but that new design would be better. See the powder-coated comfort bars on mine below.

Just because HD says it don't fit doesn't mean it wont fit. It looks very close. If I can get my hands on the parts I am going to try them out....but it wont be for a while.

I was thinking the same thing. If I didn't already have the comfort bars, I would take a chance on them. Would still need to get the powder-coated though.

I hope someone can find that post or OP can repost some pictures.

I ordered the retro fit one for the 2009-2013 model year and they were the same ones that I have on mine now!

This was the first week that the new 2014 models came out. They do look better then the old ones and my BSR really wanted them too.

I had the dealer try to install them on my 2013 road king and the lower support had to be cut for them to fit. Everything seemed OK until they put the bags on and they hit the crash bar

We tried to put mine on my buddies 13 Limited as a test fit before he spent the money on a set and they wouldn't fit. The angles are wrong. If you bolt the top then the bottom is too far back. I think with a bit of tweaking this could be overcome BUT... the extension for the bag support points upward. short of cutting and re welding I don't see how it would work. The new bars sit on more of an angle... Good luck.
