Default HF Hi lift question

A question ONLY for Harbor Freight Hi Lift owners. I already have a table lift and a red sears jack and considering a hi lift for tires and other work when table is tied up.
How stable is it and how many pumps to get it to the top?
Please don't respond if you do not have one, I know J&S is the way to go but not worth it to me for $500. Mike

Well my dad has the scissor jack that you put on your lift table under the bike to jack it up to change tires and do other jobs. It works really well looks like this. Good luck.

Good and stable, takes quite a few pumps to get it up to the second position. You could do most things at the first position while seated on a pneumatic roll around stool. The second level up lets you stand and do most of that work. I've used mine a lot, the only complaint is that the jack part leaked hydraulic fluid, not sure why. I haven't put any back in. It hasn't seemed to affect the performance.

I have the Hi Lift for most services. It is stable but can not be moved around. When I am going to move a bike around before it is done, I use one of the two floor jacks. I have a Condor mounted on a 4 post lift to do work close to the bottom of the bike. On the four post I can raise it to be where I need it while I'm standing.

I have not used the table lift much since I bolted pipe vises on it to cut and thread pipes for my project of rerouting the water lines in the basement to be out of the way for having finished rooms with no water pipes running overhead.

Never counted the number of pumps to lift the Hi-lift but it is not many.

I also put a HF chock on a 2' X 8' 3/4" plywood sheet to hold the bike up for some projects.

It is an asset to be able to mount a bike in a variety of ways to make some projects easier to reach and work on. I'm old and don't bend or flex like I used to.

Good question about these. I've been thinking about one too. Have a coupon for 25% off which does work on these. Checked with store manager.
