I know the seat will have to be changed, but is it the same tank? Turning my 02 road glide into an FLTRX.

 

They are not the same tank, so I'm not sure. You're tank is the same as my 02 FLHT and I have the 71288-03a long console that allows me to run the early CVO Road King seat. You can also run the 06-07 Street Glide seats.

Consoles should be the same through 07, shouldn't they. In 08 the went to the 6 gallon tanks, thus the change in consoles and seat.

 

What are you doing with the leftover shark nose parts?

I'm keeping it. Just trying to dress up my 02 and dump the lolly pop turns. So I'm going with a street glide rear fender. The 02 console is pretty bland so I thought I'd try one from a street glide. A budy has one I can pick up cheap. Now if I can install a console insert for an 2010 FLTRX that would be sweet! I'd have an 02 FLTRX!

 

I reckon the carb, MM efi and early Delphi efi tanks are the same external shape, so the consoles may well fit. I've adapted a recent 6 gallon tank to fit my earlier bike and the consoles are a very different shape, so won't swap.
