When I service my bike I always add 38oz but someone told me recently I should only be putting in 32oz .... Thanks Joe

I put 38oz when I don't remove the cover, and 45oz when I pull it to check my compensator and the adjustment of my Baker chain tensioner.

Dawg when you add the oil are doing it with bike level or on the side stand. Also is it usually more than a quart.

I know what the manual says but 3 techs have told me they use 32oz. Today I changed the primary and drained it directly into a measuring cup to see how much came out. 32oz on the line. When in the past I added 38oz the bike would creep forward with the clutch pulled in.

Not so much that it is wrong, that it is a general guideline. No one will get exactly the the same amount out every time.
You should check the level like the manual says in the section right before the filling instructions.
