electra glide vs street vs road glide
going crazy trying to figure out which way to go...currently riding a 05 electra and am considering trading it for a 11 street glide or possible a 11 road glide...tried a road glide last year and it road like a dream...thinking the look of the fairing could possibly grow on me...I like to do a little customising to my bikes on a budget and am curious what the big difference is going to be from the 05 to the 11....here is a pic of what im riding now..

I assume your 2005 eg works fine. So if you trade up you can look forward to....
Compensator failures (no permanent fix)
Inner primary bearing failures (auto chain tensioner)
Tires more expensive
Tbw intermittent issues
Engine heat due to catalyst
Engine noises caused by inferior lifters
And I'm sure I've left out a few, but you get the idea.....

Which is why I'm happy with my 04 rather than moving up 6-7 years

What about saving the money off of an 2011 that you'd end up spending to modify it the way you want it, and just drop/upgrade your motor in your 05?

the motor has been upgraded with a 1550 kit..heads ported..adjustable push rods and Andrews cams...it has 76000km on it ...upgrading to a newer engine with a trade in up here in Canada is around 9 grand installed...

Ah failed to notice that you were up in Canadia
What do you mean by chugging issues? I mean, if I had all that motor work done and it didn't run like a bat out of hell then I'd have it gone through by the motor builder again to figure out the issues.
