Default 2009 street glide, new parts

Today I installed the screaming eagle heavy duty clutch spring and last week I installed the Hayden primary chain tensioner. both of these mods have made my bike much more pleasurable to ride. the tensioner has given me smoother shifts, reduced trans"Clunk" by around 80%, ease of finding neutral and has eliminated noise from the primary area. the screaming eagle spring gives me a solid feeling drivetrain, I notice better acceleration and better higher gear acceleration(3rd to 4th to 5th) I am thrilled with both mods. the chain adjuster took an hour or so and the spring took around 45 minutes. the lever tension is not as hard as I thought it would be. I would say its a 20% increase in resistance from the stock spring.................... I'm pleased.

I think this is part of my list this winter. Doesn't sound like it was too difficult.....part numbers?

I was going to do the SE spring, but I was told not to just to go with the centrifugal spring. That it will have better pressure at speed but still have the stock pull at idle and low rpm.

Can you identify why the Hayden tensioner gives better results than the stock one. Seems like it should be up to the task and has lasted in mine since new. I do notice the clunk when shifting but never associated it with the tensioner.

I had a 103 upgrade done a little over a year ago. Part of the upgrade included the HD heavy duty clutch spring. The clutch lever pull increased significantly. I considered a number of options and finally decided to give The Clutch Wiz a try (I even increased the clutch spring to a 480lb version) http://clutchwiz.com/index.htm. Honestly, I have no regrets! Clutch lever pull is back to about where it was originally.

I've been considering trying the Hayden, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Here's a link for the spring I used...........

Here's a link to the tensioner I used.........

Be advised, the Screaming Eagle spring does not come with instructions. it is so simple to do that they are needed though. just take the old one off and go in reverse to put the new one in................. real simple.
