Default 23" DNA Fat Spoke

Looking to fit this wheel to my Road King, already got the wrap front fender and 7 deg trees waiting.
Has anybody had any problems fitting a tire to this rim (Avon or Metz)? I have heard one story about tire not sealing when fitting problem but want to know if it was a one off or should I just go ahead and buy?

I don't think the leak issues with DNA are the rims sealing. I have always read about leaking threw the spokes. I ran a 21 DNA Mammouth Spoke for some time and never had any leak issue, if that helps.

Rim sealing is to prevent the leak thru the spoke. The inner tube removes all doubt. I had an issue a few months back with my rear wheel from DNA. It leaked and caused the tire to come apart while I was doing about 75 down the interstate. Yeah they fixed it...and I finally took the advice of everyone that gave it....run an inner tube. They're cheap...only about $20. Whats the logic to NOT running an inner tube...especially when they are so cheap???

yup. I really do like my dna fatspokes, but I will never again listen to anyone telling me about tubeless spoke wheels. just save yourself the headache of the inevitable flat tire, put a tube in the stupid thing and never worry about it.

That 23" is going to look real sharp on your ride. Is there a reason my you went with 9degree trees instead of 6degree trees? I'm running a 23" and going to upgrade trees in the near future. After doing a little research, 6degree trees is ideal when going to 23".

I believe DNA have upgraded their wheels and now are fully sealed (spokes) but as u know when mounting a new tire it has to 'pop' when sealing correctly on the rim. I have been told the 21" is fine but for some reason the 23" is a problem, just trying to find out if others have had the same issue.
My mistake, got 7 deg triple trees and a progressive lowering kit

Good plan. Running 9* trees on a stock frame isn't a great idea, but either 6* or 7* trees, along with the 23 wheel, and your ride and handling will be just fine. (better still, if you add a little rake to the frame, though). The difference between the 6* and the 7* trees is mostly marketing.
